IPL 2022 Auction: The countdown has started, and we are one week away from the mega-auction of IPL 2022. The auction will be held in Bengaluru between February 12 and 13. Almost all the IPL franchises have made their lists of the players they want at the auction. But we will definitely see some interesting bidding wars between the franchises.

Over 1200 players registered themselves for the auction. And the final list has already been announced. The BCCI and IPL have shortlisted a total of 590 players who will come under the hammer. The list includes 370 Indian players and 220 overseas stars. But a team has the choice of picking 22–25 players in the auction. That means there will be plenty of players who might go unsold. So, as per the price category, we bring you four such Indian players with a base price of Rs 1 crore, who might go unsold in the auction. Get the latest IPL results here.

1. Piyush Chawla

The veteran leg spinner, Piyush Chawla, is amongst the highest wicket-takers in the IPL. The 33-year-old spinner was a regular member of KKR from 2015-to 2019. But the last few seasons haven’t seen much from Piyush Chawla. In fact, the leggie has played just the right matches in the last two seasons. Last season, he was with MI, but they released him ahead of the auction.

Chawla is fourth in the list of all-time highest wicket-taker in the IPL. He has 157 wickets to his name at an economy of 7.88. But teams always look for a young player who could be with the team for a long time. And with so many young spinners featuring in the auction, it might be difficult for Chawla to get a contract. 2. Jayant Yadav

The Indian spin all-rounder is next on this list. Jayant Yadav made his IPL debut in 2015, but he never got enough games to play in any season. So far, he has played 19 games and has nothing much to impress. The all-rounder has eight IPL wickets so far and has 8 ducks in his last 10 IPL innings.

His base price of Rs 1 crore might be the biggest problem for any team trying to sign him in the auction. So he might be another Indian player who might not get any deals in the auction.

3. Wriddhiman Saha

The next Indian player on the list is Wriddhiman Saha. Former SRH wicket-keeper was released by them ahead of the auction. There are a lot of options for wicket-keepers for the IPL teams to go for in the auction. Teams usually look for an explosive batsman in the T20 game, but Saha takes too much time to settle into the crease.

Saha has played 133 IPL games and has scored 2000 runs at an average of 24.5. However, he is also getting older, which could be another problem for him in the auction. The 36-year-old didn’t get the chance to play for SRH in the last season. So there are numerous reasons why he might go unsold in the 2022 auction.

4. Kedar Jadhav

At a base price of Rs 1 crore, Kedar Jadhav might also face rejection in the upcoming auction. Jadhav was released by Sunrisers Hyderabad ahead of the IPL 2022 auction. His poor batting form and slow batting style were the main reasons that he didn’t get a chance to play much in the last few seasons. Due to his intent and slow batting strike rate, he has faced a lot of criticism from the fans in the last few seasons.

His age will be another factor that might be a problem for the teams trying to pick him. The 37-year-old batsman has just made 117 runs in 14 matches in the last two seasons with a strike rate of less than 100. So, he might be added to the unsold list after the auction. Here’s our today’s cricket prediction. Do check the latest news here.
