Imran Tahir
The leg spinner is the oldest player to register for the auction. The 42-year-old was part of the CSK in the 2020 and 2021 seasons. He has just played four matches for CSK in the last two seasons. Tahir has shown that age is just a number. He was part of the World Giants in the inaugural season of Legends League Cricket.
He is currently associated with the Multan Sultans in the Pakistan Super League. The leg spinner was impressive in 2019 as he won the “Purple Cap” holder that year. He has still got that ability to rip through any batting line-up. And this Pakistan-origin player is likely to get bids from several franchises and might get a big contract.
Usman Khawaja
Usman Khawaja is another Pakistan-origin batter that is under the hammer in the IPL 2022. The left-handed batsman is one of the biggest underdogs in international cricket of this generation. However, he was part of the Rising Pune Giants in the IPL in the 2016 season. The last time he was part of the auction in 2019 but went unsold. But he has re-announced himself on the international circuit.
He was part of the recently concluded Ashes series, and he scored a century in both innings of his comeback Test. Not many know that he is a proven T20I batsman as well. He was a member of the Sydney Thunder in the BBL and also played in the PSL. Khawaja has a few hundreds in his T20 career. So he might get a deal this time in the auction.
