IPL 2022 LIVE: Punjab Kings served the viewers with utmost entertainment as they scored a massive eight-wicket win over Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League 2022. Playing at the DY Patil Stadium on Tuesday, Mayank Agarwal’s side finally managed to break their losing streak of five matches.

The win gave much-needed two points to the Kings and pushed them to fifth place in the points table. While Punjab Kings’ batters exploited the Gujarat bowlers, the English commentary box also saw some drama on Tuesday.

Kevin Pietersen and Graeme Smith were involved in a hilarious banter as they made the fans laugh at each other’s expense. The incident occurred in the 14th over when the broadcasters decided to show the list of the players who have hit the most number of sixes in IPL 2022.

Pietersen started reading out the list that was topped by Jos Buttler with a whopping 36 maximums from just ten innings. He was followed by Andre Russell with 22 sixes from eight matches. Sanju Samson occupied third place with 21 sixes while PBKS batter Liam Livingstone was positioned in the fifth place with 20 hits.

After reading the stats, the former England captain decided to take a dig at Smith as he asked him if we ever hit a six in his cricket career.

“Liam Livingstone might not have hit many, but he has hit the biggest (Six of the tournament), Have you ever hit a six in your career, Mr. Smith?”

Kevin Pietersen questioned.

Following the remark by Kevin, Smith took a pause and then came up with a much better response. He took a dig at Pietersen for not winning an IPL trophy in his IPL career. The 41-year-old played IPL from 2008 to 2016. He featured in 36 IPL matches scoring 1001 runs at an average of 37.1 and strike rate of 134.7.

Notably, Smith won the IPL trophy in the inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League in 2008 while playing for Rajasthan Royals.

“I need to waste my time with your rubbish….Did you ever win an IPL,”

Smith countered.

One of the highlights of the GT vs PBKS fixture was Punjab Kings all-rounder Liam Livingstone smacking the longest six of IPL 2022. It was in the 16th over that Liam took Mohammed Shami for a ride by smacking 28 runs off six balls.

Liam kickstarted the over by hitting a monstrous six-over deep square leg. The length of the hit was recorded at 117 meters and it became the longest maximum of the season so far. Liam followed it up with two more sixes and two fours. Enjoy more cricket betting odds and know the scheduled matches here on our site.
