Simon Doull assesses KL Rahul’s Performance at Number 11
The Vice Captain of the Indian Test Cricket Team is about to participate on the big stage of the World Test Championship Final. The match is set to take place in The Oval, London from 7th June to 11th June against Australia. The injury might have ruled out KL Rahul for a certain number of IPL Games, especially their upcoming header against Chennai Super Kings.
The NCA Camp and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have taken matters into their hands and will decide the future of KL Rahul for the rest of the tournament. The BCCI will prioritize the World Test Championship Final, London, and the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2024, India much ahead of the Indian Premier League.
The former South Indian player Simon Doull analyzed KL Rahul’s performance and mindset after walking to the field for the number 11 position. “I am not sure if he thought they could win the game when he came in at No.11. What I do believe is that the net run rate is going to be crucial later on. So if Amit Mishra could hit 1-2 fours, or if KL could have got one four, all of a sudden they get 12 more runs than what they were on. It makes a little difference to that net run rate, and every little one counts at the end of this tournament. I don’t believe that he thought for any second that he could hit five balls out of the park and win the game for them,” said Simon Doull while talking to Cricbuzz.
