“I think MSD has given enough hints that this is his last IPL. He’s keeping the world guessing and that’s been his nature. But I have this intuition that Dhoni will not be playing in the IPL next year,” Mohammad Kaif said while speaking to Star Sports.

Kaif pointed out how veteran Indian batter Sunil Gavaskar rushed to MS Dhoni during a lap of honor at Chennai Super Kings’ last home game at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on May 14. He feels it’s one of the signs that Dhoni will soon announce his retirement after the end of IPL 2023.
We have never seen Sunny Sir taking an autograph of any other cricketer: Mohammad Kaif
“We have never seen Sunny Sir taking an autograph of any other cricketer. A great like Sunil Gavaskar taking the autograph on his shirt from Dhoni just tells the greatness of MS Dhoni,” the former Indian batter hailed MS Dhoni.
MS Dhoni recently came up with a mysterious reply to IPL broadcaster Danny Morrison during their game against the Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekana Cricket Stadium on April 3. His reply kept everyone guessing about his retirement plans. “You’ve decided it is my last IPL,” Dhoni had replied after being asked about his retirement.
In the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad, MS Dhoni called it the last phase of his career and that he wants to enjoy it. He also thanked the cricket fans for a sea of yellow during their away game in Kolkata earlier this season against Kolkata Knight Riders.
Chennai Super Kings are placed at the second position in the IPL 2023 points table as they have won 7 out of their 13 games and have 15 points in their kitty. Their players will be keen to qualify for the playoffs considering the fact that IPL 2023 might be MS Dhoni’s last season.
