IPL 2023: “You know the crunch game and this is exactly what we play for”, Virat Kohli

Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad recently encountered each other in the 65th match of TATA IPL 2023 on 18 May 2023 in the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. The high-scoring thrilling knockout game was an interesting match between the two teams as they strived to win.

Sunrisers Hyderabad batted first to give Royal Challengers Bangalore a target of 187 to chase. Heinrich Klaasen scored the first-ever IPL century, making Sunrisers Hyderabad reach this respectable total on their home ground. Unfortunately, his brilliant knock went in vain as it was countered by Virat Kohli in the second innings by his sixth IPL century for Royal Challengers Bangalore. Kohli scored 100 runs off 63 deliveries with a strike rate of 158.73 after smashing twelve fours and four sixes.

Virat Kohli revealed his chat with Faf du Plessis before entering the field to bat

Virat Kohli recently revealed his conversation with the captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore, Faf du Plessis, in between the two innings, as both the in-form legendary batsmen entered the field to bat.
Royal Challengers Bangalore has always been famous for its destructive top-order batsmen.

Virat talked about how Faf’s gut instincts came true. He revealed before the second innings even began, Faf claimed that he has a feeling that either of the top three batsmen of RCB, namely him, Virat or Glenn Maxwell could get 100 tonight and the highest possibility of getting it was with Virat.

“Just before we went in to bat, we had a conversation, and Faf said that I have a gut feeling that one of the top three is going to get a hundred. Then I said the odds of someone getting a hundred looks like you right now because of the way you are batting. He said I think it’s you.” Said Virat Kohli.

“I honestly didn’t feel like it was going to happen so quickly in two three overs, but I am more happy about the fact that we got a decent start. That partnership really set things nicely for us. You know the crunch game and this is exactly what we play for.” Said Virat Kohli.
