Harry Brook calls IPL the “best franchise competition”
Ahead of the beginning of IPL, Harry Brook has expressed his excitement. The player has called IPL the best league and is hopeful to face childhood heroes Muttiah Muralitharan and Dale Steyn in the nets. “It’s the best franchise competition in the world. Everyone wants to play in it. There are a lot of good players there, and hopefully, I get some opportunities to express how I’m playing at the minute – and show the world I’m capable of scoring runs anywhere. Brian Lara is a legend of the game… I used to love watching him when I was younger,” he added.
In addition to speaking about IPL, Harry Brook also said that he was happy to be part of England’s test team. He said, “I’m very lucky to have come into this Test side. The way we’re trying to play, the positive brand of cricket we’re trying to play to entertain the crowd – it suits my game more than any, really.” Harry Brook made his debut for England in 2022. Since then he has played 6 test games, 3 ODIs, and 20 T20Is. IPL 2023 will begin on March 31st. Sunrisers Hyderabad will face Rajasthan Royals on April 2 in their first game.
