Things don’t look good for Indian opener KL Rahul who has suffered a hip injury. During the Lucknow SuperGiants versus Royal Challengers Bangalore match, KL Rahul attempted to save a boundary but fell on the hip. Despite the injury, the batter came out to bat at 11 but his injury has not aggravated. KL Rahul will no longer be part of the IPL and is likely to miss the World Test Championship finals. The Indian opener was included in India’s squad for the World Test Championship finals.

KL Rahul has good numbers in England and was in contention to open with Rohit Sharma. However, looking at the circumstances, it will no longer be a surprise if he misses the competition. Ajinkya Rahane would be well-positioned to make his first Test match in more than a year, considering Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant being unavailable.
