MI vs LSG, Mumbai, 37th Match IPL 2022

With the stellar performance, Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants played their second match against each other in IPL 2022 in Mumbai. Mumbai Indians won the toss and chose to bowl first.  Lucknow Super Giants batted first in the innings and gave Mumbai Indians a target of 169. The decent score was one of the exciting totals in the TATA IPL 2022. The team-opening batsman and Captain KL Rahul scored 103 off 62 deliveries with a strike rate of 166.13 while smashing twelve fours and four sixes. Manish Pandey and Ayush Badoni also scored 22 and 14 off 22 and 11 deliveries respectively. Both hit one six each to make Lucknow Super Giants reach the score. 

Lucknow Super Giants successfully defended the score and won the match in the 20 overs by 36 runs. Rohit Sharma and Tilak Varma scored 39 and 38 off 31 and 27  deliveries respectively for Mumbai Indians. KL Rahul was awarded Player of the Match for his brilliant century.

Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants met each other for the first time and played their first-ever game in the Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai for the 26th Match TATA IPL 2022. Mumbai Indians won the toss and chose to bowl first. 

Lucknow Super Giants batted first and their opening batsman and Skipper KL Rahul managed a high score. Captain KL Rahul scored 103 off 60 deliveries with a strike rate of 171.67 while smashing nine fours and five sixes. Manish Pandey and Quinton de Kock scored 38 and 24 runs off 29 and 13 deliveries with a strike rate of 131.03 and 184.62 respectively, while smashing one six and four fours respectively. Lucknow Super Giants gave Mumbai Indians a target of 200. 

Lucknow Super Giants successfully defended the target and won the match in 20 overs by 18 runs. Mumbai Indians’ batting top-order collapsed and failed to score runs. Surya Kumar Yadav, Dewald Brevis, Tilak Varma and Keiron Pollard scored 37,31,26  and 25 respectively. The team’s middle-order batting managed to score but still, Lucknow Super Giants managed to win the game. KL Rahul won the Player of the Match award for his brilliant knock.
