Lucknow SuperGiants’ Prerak Mankad Opens Up on His Match-Winning Knock

The Lucknow SuperGiants versus Sunrisers Hyderabad game became the talk of the town and for no good reason. Sunrisers Hyderabad, batting first, couldn’t do much with the bat. However, one delivery faced by Henry Klassen which wasn’t given a no-ball triggered Hyderabad fans. Coming out to chase, Lucknow SuperGiants lost in form batter Kyle Mayers early in the innings. Nevertheless, Prerak Mankad who was replacing Deepak Hooda played a match-winning knock of 64 runs. Mankad received support on the other hand from his Lucknow SuperGiants teammates Marcus Stoinis and Nicholas Pooran. While Stoinis contributed 40 runs in 25 balls, Pooran stayed till the very end smashing Hyderabad bowlers across the ground.

During the post-match presentation, Prerak Mankad credited his Lucknow SuperGiants teammates for helping him back his strengths throughout the innings. “Well, both Marcus Stoinis and Nicholas Pooran told me to back my strength. Some basic things and that helped me execute the strokes. It feels amazing to play a big role in the team winning. I am very grateful to the team management and everyone for giving me this huge platform and giving me the opportunity to bat at this number in the order,” said the batter.

“I have been playing domestic cricket for the last five to six years in all formats. It helped me a lot. And performances there do help any player. I am glad that the team won the game today [Saturday],” the young Lucknow SuperGiants batter added. Speaking about the team, LSG currently stands at number 4 with possible chances of qualification. Lucknow SuperGiants will receive competition from Rajasthan Royals as well as Punjab Kings for the top 4 spots. They’ve just 2 more games left against Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders. Meanwhile, the Sunrisers Hyderabad has 3 games remaining but are ideally out of the IPL 2023 race.
