Mumbai Indians Win Against Rajasthan Royals As Tim David Shines With the Bat

Last night’s game between Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals was once again a high-scoring game. Yashasvi Jaiswal’s maiden IPL century helped the Royals put up a score of 212 runs. It wasn’t an easy chase for the Mumbai Indians but collective efforts from the batters, especially by Tim David resulted in the 5-time champions finishing off the game with 6 wickets in hand and 5 balls to go.

Mumbai Indians needed 17 runs from the last 6 balls to win the game. The Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson gave the ball to Jason Holder in the last over to defend. With Tim David on strike for Mumbai Indians, the first ball which was a full toss went for a six straight down the ground. This was followed by 2 more sixes on the full toss, one over mid-wicket and the last one over deep square leg.

After the victory, Mumbai Indians’ finisher sympathized with Jason Holder and acknowledged that it wasn’t easy to bowl in these conditions. “It was tough bowling. It was very sweaty to grip the ball. As a batter, you have a feeling when you get the momentum. It was very important that the first ball went for six. It’s a tough role for him [Holder]. I feel for him because it was tough for everyone bowling at all stages. I have happy doing whatever the team needs. I don’t know where I would move up the order. I am happy doing my job. I am trying to become versatile and finding the best option,” Tim David said.

With this victory, Mumbai Indians have not only strengthened their position in the competition but have also made the qualification scenario difficult. Mumbai Indians is now at par with RCB in terms of the points. However, the team will need a big margin victory to jump into the top 4 on the points table.
