Ravi Shastri Believes Jitesh Sharma Will Make His Debut for India Soon
Team India is currently in a dire need of a good wicket-keeper batter. With KL Rahul, as well as Ishan Kishan struggling with runs and Rishabh Pant still recovering from his accident, Jitesh Sharma is next in line. Former Indian coach Ravi Shastri has made bold predictions for Jitesh Sharma and mentioned that the player will soon be part of team India.
The Indian Premier League has helped unearth a few talented players this year like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Tilak Verma, Jitesh Sharma, and others. The BCCI is clear on wanting to have a new team filled with youngsters for the shortest format of the game. Therefore, looking at the circumstances as well as the performances, Jitesh Sharma fits well in the set-up. The men in blue lacks a finisher in the lower middle order who can smash the bowler as soon as he walks in.

This guy (Jitesh Sharma) can enter the Indian team anytime: Ravi Shastri
Despite having shown promise in the previous season as well, Jitesh Sharma has excelled predominantly as a finisher. Jitesh has scored 190 runs in 9 games with a 162-strike rate. Speaking about Sharma, Ravi Shastri said, “He’s the find of the IPL. Rishabh Pant is unfortunately not available but this guy can enter the Indian team anytime. Lower down the order, he’s a todu (fantastic) player. His keeping is great, and he is fearless. You’re talking about Shikhar, he missed 2-3 games with injury, but his intent is amazing. He scored 20-25, but the intent with which he plays is amazing. And then of course, they have (Liam) Livingstone and (Sam) Curran.”
In the last Chennai Super Kings versus Punjab Kings game, Jitesh Sharma scored 21 runs from just 10 balls which proved to be helpful in the team’s victory. Punjab Kings’ Rahul Chahar after the victory praised Sharma. “The way our batsmen are going, in every match we are scoring 200. So, it is a good sign for us especially Jitesh is in very good form. He is making the difference, like coming and hitting sixes on the first or second ball,” Rahul Chahar said.
