The 23-year-old became the fourth batter after Shikhar Dhawan, Jos Buttler and Virat Kohli to slam back-to-back IPL hundreds. Royal Challengers Bangalore star batter Virat Kohli too achieved this feat in the first innings of the same game as he smashed an unbeaten 61-ball 101 to take his side to a huge total of 197-5.

Chasing a massive target of 198 runs, Gujarat Titans lost their opener, Wriddhiman Saha, early into their innings. Shubman Gill then built a crucial partnership along with Vijay Shankar who came in to bat at the number 3 position.

The young Indian opener continued his purple patch in the IPL 2023 tournament, registering a brisk half-century. Gill raced to his half-century in just 29 balls against RCB as he went all guns blazing against the RCB bowling lineup.

His previous score of 101 against SRH was the former best score by a Gujarat Titans’ batter. Gill brought up his hundred by hitting the winning six in the final over of RCB vs GT game aas his side won the game by 6 wickets.
