Jos Butler had a dream run last in IPL with 863 in 17 games with 4 half-centuries as well as 4 centuries. It was expected that this year too, Jos Buttler would pick up the same form. However, the player’s bat has been quiet this season. While his opening partner Yashasvi Jaiswal has been in top-notch form, Buttler is still trying to create an impact. Nonetheless, despite this, Rajasthan Royals are in a decent position.

Not only Jos Buttler but captain Sanju Samson has been struggling to get runs too. But, what has worked wonders for the team is the performances of Hetmyer and Dhruv Jurel. Ahead of the Rajasthan Royals and Gujarat Titans clash, Jos Buttler opened up on his batting slump. The England batter acknowledged that while runs were not coming as expected, it was important for him to stick to his plans and work accordingly.

Haven’t scored as many runs as I would have liked: Jos Buttler

RR vs GT: Jos Buttler Opens Up on His IPL Slump

“Yes, it is a crucial time in the tournament and that’s very exciting. This is the best way to look at it. Whether runs are coming or not, it is important for me to stick to what I know and believe in, and play my brand of cricket. I started the tournament doing that pretty well, but haven’t scored as many runs as I would have liked to score of late. But it is important for me to stay true to myself. I share a nice relationship with Yashasvi and he has an insatiable appetite to learn,” Jos Buttler said.

Jos Buttler further added that he has a good experience batting alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal. He mentioned that the two of them share a good bond and he keeps providing the young opener with some tips time and again. Jos Buttler then spoke about the team’s new finisher Dhruv Jurel and said that it is difficult to bat down the order and the player is doing really well. Rajasthan Royals started off the IPL well by being on the top of the table for a long time. However, they have only 1 win in the last 4 games which has complicated their chances of qualifying.
