With the stellar performance, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Lucknow Super Giants played their first match against each other in IPL 2023 in Lucknow. Sunrisers Hyderabad batted first in the innings and gave Lucknow Super Giants a target of 121. The low score was one of the lowest totals in the IPL 2023. The team-opening batsman Anmolpreet Singh scored 31 off 26 deliveries with a strike rate of 119.23 while smashing three fours and a six. Sunrisers Hyderabad Rahul Tripathi and Nicholas Pooran scored 30 and 24 respectively, but the team’s top-order batting collapsed making Hyderabad lose the game. Avesh Khan won the Player of the Match award for his spell 4-0-24-4.
