On the occasion of Mother’s Day, the Royal Challengers Bangalore were facing Rajasthan Royals in a do-or-die game. In order to keep themselves alive in the competition and put up a good fight, the RCB franchise made a couple of changes in their playing XI. Josh Hazelwood and Wanindu Hasaranga were replaced by Wayne Parnell and Micheal Bracewell. Wayne Parnell came in as the replacement for injured Reece Topley and has been impressive with his spells this season.

The Bangalore team batting first had set a decent target of 172 runs. Mohammad Siraj who has been excellent in the opening spells this year picked up Yashasvi Jaiswal in the first over. On the other end, Wayne Parnell created pressure on the Rajasthan Royals batting line-up. Wayne Parnell first dismissed the dangerous opener Jos Buttler followed by Sanju Samson as well as Joe Root. The batting team crumbled under pressure and were all out for 59 runs.

Wayne Parnell Dedicates RCB’s Victory to All the Mothers

Wayne Parnell registered a spell of 3-10 in 3 overs. After the victory, the left-arm pacer dedicated the victory to all the mothers. “It is something that we have shared over the last few weeks, it is about staying ready and training hard. I think today was a special day as well. It’s Pink around here, and it is Mother’s Day as well. I would like to dedicate the win to all the mighty mothers out there, and especially my wife, who is really holding the fort at home,” he said.

Explaining his favorite wicket of the day, Wayne Parnell mentioned that Sanju Samson’s wicket was properly executed as per his plans. “The Sanju one has to be my favorite among the three wickets. Because there was a plan to bowl a hard length to him, try to make him play across the line and it worked really well,” Wayne Parnell added. RCB’s 112 runs victory has helped their run rate massively. Before the start of the game, their net run rate was negative, -0.345, and after the game, they jumped from 7th to 5th position with a net run rate of +0.166.
