“We Have Been Clinical and Ruthless,” Says Shubman Gill

Defending IPL champions Gujarat Titans have continued their magical touch in the ongoing season too. Much of the team’s success can be credited to their opening batter Shubman Gill. Shubman Gill was picked by Gujarat Titans during the 2022 IPL mega auctions. The player wasn’t at his best last year but bygones are bygones. The opener is currently the best batter of his team with 333 runs in 8 games with 3 half-centuries.

Ahead of the Gujarat Titans versus Delhi Capitals match, Shubman Gill opened up on the team performances. In recent weeks, Shubman Gill has been used as an Impact Player, mostly to let him in to look for his damaged finger. “I don’t think we are peaking at the wrong time. Because the second half of the tournament is called the business end of the tournament. We are playing our best cricket right now. If you have seen our last two matches, the way we have performed, with the bat and with the ball, it’s been clinical and ruthless of us. I don’t think it puts more pressure on me (playing as an impact player). Do I miss fielding, obviously I do. As a precautionary measure, you have to take some difficult calls. You have to take care of certain things,” Shubman Gill said. In addition to Shubman Gill doing well, the likes of Vijay Shankar, David Miller, and Abhinav Manohar have been stepping up to do well in the batting department.
