The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 playoffs race continue to excite the fans as it gets intense in the last couple of days of the league phase. Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Sunrisers Hyderabad are the major favourites to finish in the remaining 2 places.

While Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) focus remain on their upcoming crucial match in the playoffs race against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), the cricket enthusiasts around the country still been left guessing the future of India’s one of the most successful captain MS Dhoni’s career in the IPL.

MS Dhoni, despite aged 42, soon to turn 43, has continued to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the CSK franchise. However, there are much possibilities that this could end-up being the last season for the veteran. Fans have always been excited know about the future of MS Dhoni and have looked-up to the post-match ceremony where for the last couple of years, Dhoni have been asked about his future in the IPL.

However, with MS Dhoni not being the captain and not attended the post-match ceremonies, there is still much curiosity among the fans about the future of the 5 times IPL winning captain, which still hangs in the air.

Meanwhile, recently CSK team coach Michael Hussey have opened-up about the future of the former India captain in the IPL. Hussey, during ESPN’s Around the Wicket show, was asked about the future of MS Dhoni, to which Hussey said that he is as clueless as the fans.

“Your guess is as good as mine at this stage,” Hussey said. However, Hussey hoped that the wicketkeeper keeps going, “He keeps his cards very, very close to his chest. We are hoping he does keep going another couple of years.”

While the fans continue to ask the veteran keeper to continue, MS Dhoni has hit IPL 2024 running after a knee surgery last year and has visibly seen struggling due to pain, thus the future of MS Dhoni continuing seems very unlikely.
