ENG vs NZ: New Zealand cricket team created history on their last tour to England. The Blackcaps scored a win in the two-match Test series by 2-0 in June last year. They will again hope to dominate the Englishmen in their own backyard as they are traveling to England for a three-match Test series. Read more 10cric reviews and know how this app works for betting online.

The two teams will play against each other in three Test matches at London, Nottingham, and Leeds respectively. Before the Test series, the two nations will play against each other in two warm-up matches. As many as five NZ national cricketers are playing the Indian Premier League and will be thus missing the practice games.

To deal with the absence of Trent Boult, Daryl Mitchell, Kane Williamson, Tim Southee, and Devon Conway, New Zealand Cricket has announced a 20-member squad for the longest format of the game. Notably, the squad features as many as 13 players who won the World Test Championship last year.

Michael Bracewell, Cam Fletcher, Blair Tickner, and Jacob Duffy are some of the new inclusions in the team while the pace duo of Ajaz Patel and Rachin Ravindra has also received a call-up.

New Zealand coach Gary Stead seemed happy with the squad selection. The head coach stressed the importance of work-load management ahead of a busy cricketing year ahead. Sted also spoke highly of the NZ players as he believes that they are ready to defeat England once again.

“The red-ball tour of England first up is clearly high on our priority list and we’re looking forward to hitting the ground running over there in a couple of weeks’ time. All going to plan, we will have everyone fit and available for the first Test at Lord’s, and aim to announce our final squad of 15 for that series once we’ve completed our warm-up games,”

Gary Stead said as per a report published by ESPNcricinfo.

“Last season I thought we juggled our resources really well to ensure the welfare of our people was prioritized, and we’ll be looking to do that again with the white-ball cricket in July and August. That means no players or staff will stay with the side for the entire 14 weeks while we’re away, as we balance the workloads. The ICC T20 World Cup in Australia is only six months away and we’ll continue to also prioritize as much planning and preparation for that as possible,”

the veteran added.

New Zealand 20-member squad: Kane Williamson (capt), Jacob Duffy, Cameron Fletcher, Matt Henry, Tom Blundell, Trent Boult, Michael Bracewell, Devon Conway, Colin de Grandhomme, Kyle Jamieson, Tom Latham, Daryl Mitchell, Henry Nicholls, Ajaz Patel, Tim Southee, Blair Tickner, Neil Wagner, Will Young, Rachin Ravindra, Hamish Rutherford.
