Pakistan Super League likely to resume from June 5 – Reports
If reports are to be believed, the sixth edition of the Pakistan Super League will start on June 5, with Islamabad United taking on Lahore Qalandars in the first game. Also, a report published in Cricket Pakistan states that the PSL-6 will have five double-headers, four in the round-robin stage and one in the playoffs. The first double-headers will be played on June 7 with Islamabad United taking on Quetta Gladiators in the first match which will be followed by a game between Peshawar Zalmi and Lahore Qalandars. A full schedule of fixtures is expected to be released later today.
Meanwhile, three hotels have been booked in Abu Dhabi with two teams staying at one hotel each. All three hotels are part of the bio bubble. Also, if players from any team test positive for COVID-19, only two teams, who were involved in the match, will be asked to quarantine. The other four teams can continue playing the tournament. Since several overseas players will be unavailable due to various reasons, the PCB is considering conducting a mini-draft to rope in replacements of the missing players. The tournament is expected to conclude on the pre-decided date of June 20 after which the Pakistan team will leave for England.
