PAK vs ZIM: On Thursday, Pakistan suffered a shocking 1-run defeat at the hands of Zimbabwe at the Perth Stadium. It was the second successive defeat for Pakistan in the competition. This loss has almost guaranteed their elimination from the tournament. However, since anything is possible, and mathematically, they can still qualify for the semis. But that looked impossible because they would have to defend the results of other teams. However, the loss against Zimbabwe didn’t go well for Pakistan.

The team faced a massive backlash on social media from former cricketers and fans. Ex-Pakistani speedster Shoaib Akhtar slammed the team and management for poor performance. On the other hand, he also went on to make a blunt prediction about India’s future in the competition. He said that India would reach the semi-final but would lose and then come back.

In a video posted on his YouTube channel after Pakistan’s loss, Akhtar said that he predicted it earlier for Pakistan. He stated that he knew that Pakistan would be eliminated in the first week only. Furthermore, he stated that the opener and middle-order batters are insufficient at the highest level. He also added that the captaincy of Babar Azam is also not good and now they are out of the competition in their second game only. However, he also talked about India and said,

“I had already told Pakistan that they would come back this week. And India will come back next week after playing in the semi-final. Voh bhi koi Tees Maar Khan nahi hai (India are also not some unbeatable side) and we are even worse.”

Frustrated by the loss, Akhtar lashed out at the Pakistani team management as well. He said that the management was brainless and was making foolish decisions. The former pacer stated there were many flaws in the team, including the captaincy, and they hadn’t selected the right players for the job. He highlighted that Pakistan should have picked Fakhar Zaman in place of Shan Masood.

Akhtar said that Fakhar was sitting on the bench, and he did not play him. He also said that now they will have to face the media and question fans from India as well. Akhtar concluded by saying that now he doesn’t have any belief in this team.
