R Ashwin Praises Mohammad Siraj for Becoming No. 1 ODI Bowler
Mohammad Siraj made the men in blue proud as he claimed the number 1 spot in the ICC’s ODI bowler’s ranking. Siraj, who outperformed Trent Boult of New Zealand and Josh Hazlewood of Australia, led the chart for the very first time in his career. In the bowlers’ standings, the Indian fast bowler is in first place with 729 points, followed by Hazlewood (727) and Boult (708). Team India’s veteran spinner R Ashwin believes that the pacer has worked hard to reach the position.

“World’s No. 1 ODI bowler. What does he not have?,” R Ashwin on Mohammad Siraj
R Ashwin on his YouTube channel said, “World’s No. 1 ODI bowler. What does he not have? If you want outswinger, he has it. If you want inswinger, he has it. If you want bouncer, he has it. If you want a slower ball, he has it. If you want him to become No. 1 bowler, he can become that too. He has a big heart, the entire repertoire, and charming bubble-gum chewing face. He works hard and at the same time looks relaxed as well. He will smile even if he gets smashed.”
After a mediocre IPL season, Mohammad Siraj was trolling for leaking runs in the death overs. However, with determination and grit, he overcame his shortcomings to become India’s go-to bowler. R Ashwin backed the pacer and said that one shouldn’t think about the IPL performances as anyone could go for runs in the IPL. Siraj will be leading India’s pace attack in the Border-Gavaskar trophy in absence of Jasprit Bumrah. The men in blue have lost their first T20 against New Zealand. They will lock horns with the blackcaps for the second game at Lucknow on January 29.
