Ramiz Raja Points Out Team India’s Weakness During IND vs NZ Series

IND vs NZ: Ever since his demotion, Ramiz Raja has been a lot more active on YouTube. In his new video, he has analyzed the recent weakness in the performance of Team India. The men in blue won two 3 back-to-back series so far in 2023. After recovering from the disappointment of losing in the T20 World Cup semifinals, India defeated Bangladesh on the road. They then thrashed Sri Lanka at home, and are now in control of the three-match series against New Zealand with a 2-0 unbeatable advantage.

Due to their recent success, they are almost ready to be named the best ODI team in the world. Team India is also going to play a 4-match test series against Australia. They also have the World Test Championship finals, Asia Cup, and World Cup on their cards. Ramiz emphasized that the top-order batsmen of Team India have struggled with the front foot and have committed a few mistakes during the past two games.

IND vs NZ: Ramiz Raja says Team India openers have issues with front-foot batting

IND vs NZ: “What India batters need to do, top order in particular, is the fact that their front-foot batting is looking weak. It’s easy to hit from the back foot, but once the ball is tossed up, you rely on defense, then there is some error. India’s resurgence in ODI and Test cricket is on the basis of bowling because their batting is historically strong,” he said.
Apart from this, Ramiz Raja was in awe of Shubman Gill, the in-form batsman of Team India. Gill had amassed a record-setting 208 runs on Wednesday in the series-opening game in Hyderabad. The batsman helped India defeat New Zealand by 12 runs. He became the sixth player in ODI history to record a double century. When comparing Gill’s batting style to that of India’s captain, Raja praised him as a “mini Rohit Sharma”.
“Shubman Gill looks like a mini-Rohit Sharma. He has extra time and looks good. He has enough potential. Aggression will also develop with time. He doesn’t need to change anything. He scored a double hundred recently,” he added. Team India will face New Zealand in the last ODI at Indore on Tuesday, January 24.
