SA VS ENG: For the upcoming three-match ODI series against England at home, South Africa has summoned back all-rounders Sisanda Magala and Marco Jansen. Temba Bavuma is South Africa’s ODI skipper despite a recent decline in white-ball cricket. And a lineup that appears to be a familiar one. Due to space restrictions, Dewald Brevis, the powerful 19-year-old who is now third on the SA20 run-scorers list, was unable to join the team.

Brevis would likely have a David Warner-like introduction to international cricket by moving up from the T20I squad, according to South Africa’s director of cricket, Enoch Nkwe, earlier this week. Selection coordinator Victor Mpitsang also confirmed Brevis would be taken into consideration for the series against the West Indies in March. At the time of the squad announcement, Brevis and Sisanda Magala were competing in the SA20 match. With the latter claiming six wickets from the former.

SA VS ENG: “Mix Of Youth And Experience”: Victor Mpitsang
Sisanda Magala is tied for third in the SA20 most wickets taken. And he took the most in the domestic one-day cup this season. Magala struggled to pass the fitness test’s two-kilometer time trial despite his form. And he was mainly disqualified from last year’s tournament. Now that it is 8:30, he is eligible for selection.
South Africa will try to move on from its terrible previous performances. Which include failing to perform at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup and losing the Test series in Australia 0-3.

The show kicks off on January 27 in Bloemfontein and ends in Kimberley five days later. Their most recent encounter, the three-game series in England last July that was halted by rain in the third game at Leeds ended 1-1.
