Suryakumar Yadav: MSK Prasad, the former top selector, believes T20 star Suryakumar Yadav would soon have an impact on ODI cricket. The 32-year-old was complimented by him as a fantastic athlete and a great all-around performer. Suryakumar has performed admirably in Twenty20 matches.

He has also been unable to replicate his performance in ODIs. The Mumbai hitter was not a member of India’s starting lineup for either of the first two One-Day Internationals against Sri Lanka. He had a chance on the dead rubber, but he was out for four in the Thiruvananthapuram match.

MSK Prasad is not very concerned despite Suryakumar’s uneven performance in the first two white-ball competitions. He said in an interview.

“Suryakumar Yadav will soon make his impact in the 50-over format as well. Surya is a superb athlete. The fact that he is a member of both the T20 team and the Test squad speaks something about his flexibility. So if he can make the T20 and Test squads, he will undoubtedly perform well in ODIs as well.” He simply needs to wait for his turn. He will soon secure his position on the Indian team, in my opinion.”

Suryakumar scored 1578 runs in 45 T20 Internationals with an astounding strike rate of 180.34 and an average of 46.41. He only managed to score 388 runs in 17 ODIs, an appalling average of 29.84.

Many critics and former cricket players have criticized the selectors for continuously passing over Sarfaraz Khan. But MSK Prasad claims that the Mumbai player needs to put in more effort before getting the call.

The 25-year-old was instructed by him to have patience and make the most of his opportunity to participate at the “India A” level.

Suryakumar Yadav: Team India’s Batting Options

“Everyone who does well in domestic cricket has one more rung to climb, and that is India ‘A,” says Rishabh Pant, K S Bharat, Shreyas Iyer, Mohammed Siraj, and Sanju Samson. Even Shreyas Iyer scored 1,300 runs in one season, but he couldn’t get through since the club was loaded with middle-order batters and he had to wait his turn. And whenever he gets a chance to play for India ‘A,’ he should take advantage of it.”

With a fantastic average of 80.47, 12 hundred, and 9 fifties, Sarfaraz has scored 3380 runs in 36 first-class matches. Despite competition from other hitters for the berth in India’s side for the forthcoming ODI series, the 32-year-old was chosen. Iyer has been replaced by Rajat Patidar, who has not yet made his debut for the national team, but the new injury to Shreyas Iyer, which has forced him out of the forthcoming series, has allowed the Mumbai-born cricketer to be selected in the playing XI.
