Both batters hit Leicestershire bowlers to all parts of the ground and added an unbeaten partnership of 118 runs for the second wicket in just 52 balls. Lynn brought up his century and carried his bat through the innings. He remained unbeaten on 106* off 66 balls, including 12 fours and three maximums. On the other hand, the Kiwi all-rounder played an explosive inning of 75 off just 30 balls, including five boundaries and six maximums at an incredible strike rate of 250. Both batters helped their team to post a big score of 227/1 in their 20 overs.

Chasing the big target, Leicestershire lost two early wickets for a score of 8 runs. But after that, Scott Steel and skipper Colin Ackermann added 65 runs for the third wicket. But once that partnership was broken, they went through the cluster of the wickets. But the highlight of the second innings came on the third ball of the 11th over.

Rishi Patel (10) was facing Freddie Heldreich, who bowled a ball in the slot. The batter swept the ball towards the leg-side boundary and connected well. At one point, it looked like the ball would sail over for six. But Rob Keogh came running towards the ball and jumped in the air to grab it. Luckily, the ball stuck in his hand, and he caught a one-handed stunner at the boundary line. Everyone on the field was wowed after looking at the catch.


Leicestershire fell short by 42 runs of the big target and managed only 185/9 in their 20 overs. For Northamptonshire, Ben Sanderson and Freddie Heldreich took three wickets each. After a stunning batting display, Neesham also contributed with the ball. He ended with a figure of 2/26 in his three overs.
