T20 World Cup: ‘Grounds to operate at 70% capacity’ – ICC
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced that all venues of the T20 World Cup will operate at 70% capacity. The tournament is all set to kick off on October 17 in Muscat. Abu Dhabi has introduced new socially distanced pods which can accommodate a maximum of four spectators on their east and west grass mounds. Meanwhile, Oman Cricket Academy, which will host the qualifiers, have built a temporary infrastructure which can accommodate 3000 fans.

Our thanks to our hosts BCCI, Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) and Oman Cricket as well as the local governments in these regions for their support in ensuring fans could attend in a safe environment.

Oman and Papua New Guinea will kick off the tournament with the qualifying round on October 17, while the Super 12s will get underway on October 23, with a match between Australia and South Africa. The iconic battle between India and Pakistan will take place on October 24 in Dubai.
