Jofra Archer Opens Up on His Plans for the Upcoming English Summers
Jofra Archer who made his comeback for England earlier this year after a long hiatus owing to multiple injuries is eyeing playing Ashes. After the loss in the previous Ashes, the England team will not only pick up their best team but will also make use of their home conditions. However, before playing the important test series, Jofra Archer will be participating in the Indian Premier League playing for Mumbai Indians. He might also not be available for the entire season owing to national duties.
Since his comeback, Jofra Archer has played three-game ODI series in South Africa and ODI. He is currently in Bangladesh touring with the team for the ODI and T20I series. In his remarks prior to the second T20 against Bangladesh, Archer noted that the 2019 Ashes season was one of his greatest summers and expressed his desire to assist England to keep the trophy this year. Speaking to Daily Mail he acknowledged that he will be happy if he gets to even play 1 game this summer.

If I can play one game this summer, I’ll be happy: Jofra Archer
“If I can play one game this summer, I’ll be happy. If I play more than one, that’s just a bonus. I haven’t lost an Ashes series as yet, so hopefully, we can keep it that way. But nothing but great memories. Probably the best ever Test you’ll ever get to witness, let alone on TV but in person, so, now that summer is probably one of the best summers I’ve had. The only thing unknown at the moment now would be fitness, and if you can actually get through a whole Test match,” Jofra Archer said.
Jofra Archer further added that there is always a possibility of getting injured but that doesn’t stop him from being optimistic about his chances. The pacer’s fitness is necessary for his team not only for the Ashes but also in regard to the upcoming ODI World Cup in India. England is currently playing their second ODI versus Bangladesh. The visitors have lost their first game of the T20 series. The second game right now is underway with England being dismissed on 117.
