After the blistering innings that he played for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) side on 18th April 2021 that propelled the Virat Kohli led side to their third consecutive victory, South African batting legend AB de Villiers has stated that he wants to feature in the 2021 T20 World Cup that will be held in India later this year.

Stating that he has not yet had a discussion with Mark Boucher regarding the matter, de Villiers said that he will have talks with the SA coach soon. The South African batting legend also added that Boucher had asked him last year whether he was interested to make a return to the side.
“I haven’t had a discussion with Bouchy (Mark Boucher) yet. We are lined up to have a chat somewhere during the IPL but yes, we have been talking about it. Last year, he asked me if I would be interested. And I said, ‘absolutely’. And come the end of the IPL, we will have a look at where we are at with regards to my form and my fitness,” stated de Villiers as quoted by Cricbuzz. Check our all cricket betting tips free. AB de Villiers also added that if there is no space for him in the team, he is fine with it. He concluded by stating that if he can get the chance to play again for his country, it would be a fantastic feeling.
“Also, the situation with his team – he’s got to look at his guys who have been performing well over the last while. If there’s no space for me, so be it. If I can slot in there, it will be fantastic if all those things fall in place. Waiting for Bouchy towards the end of the IPL, and we will then plan accordingly,” concluded the 37-year-old de Villiers.
