Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) is keen on hosting Pakistan for a One-Day series. The newly appointed Afghanistan chairman Azizullah Fazli said he will visit Pakistan next week to invite the Men in Green to Afghanistan. The development comes amidst the speculation of the possible boycott of the Afghanistan Men’s team. Taliban have banned their women’s team from playing cricket which is why there is a call to boycott Men’s team as well. Also, Afghanistan may be stripped of their Test status as all full ICC members must have a women’s team as well. Take a look of our review about bet365 online.

While Fazli didn’t comment on the recent talks, he said he’ll visit Pakistan, India, and neighbouring countries to meet cricket board officials. “I am taking a tour of Pakistan from September 25 and then will go to India, Bangladesh and the United Arab Emirates to meet officials of cricket boards,” NDTV quoted Fazli.

Pakistan and Afghanistan were set to clash in a three-match ODI series in September in Sri Lanka but the series was called off due to logistical issues and the spike in COVID-19 cases in Sri Lanka.

Fazli said he’s keen on improving the cricket infrastructure in the country but emphasized he will need help from the other cricket board as well. Meanwhile, Afghanistan’s next major assignment will be the T20 World Cup. However, they fear getting boycott due to their ban on women cricket. Also, ICC may ban them from participating in the showpiece event if they play under the Taliban flag. The Mohammad Nabi-led side is placed alongside India, Pakistan and New Zealand in Group B.
