It has not been a great resumption of Indian Premier League (IPL) for Rajasthan Royals. They started the UAE leg on a positive note, with a final over win over Punjab Kings (PVKS) but have looked completely off-colour in the following games. They only have four wins to show in their 11 games and their chances of qualifying through the next round look dull.

RR have been let down by their batters. Barring Sanju Samson and Evin Lewis, there have been no contributions whatsoever from other willow wielders. The bowling is also not too different and does not look threatening at all. The biggest disappointment though will be the form of Chris Morris, who is yet to take a wicket in the UAE leg so far.

RR director Kumar Sangakkara is also not happy with Morris’ returns and said he expects more contributions from his ace all-rounder. “Chris Morris did brilliantly for us in the first half, and he has not done the job as we would have liked him to in the second half. He knows that and we know that. 50 runs from four overs, his last over were the last throw of the dice to try and get a wicket. We were well out of the game at that point.

”He has done well for us in certain parts, and whoever we think of playing next will be the best person to come into the side to play against the opposition,” said Sangakkara during a virtual post-match press conference.

RR need to win all their remaining game to stand a chance to qualify for the playoffs.
