IPL 2022: BCCI and IPL committee have announced a final schedule of the IPL mega auction. The event is scheduled to take place on 12th and 13th February. On Saturday, BCCI announced the list of players who have registered for the mega auction. The list includes 1214 players (270 capped, 903 uncapped, and 41 Associate players) out of which 318 are foreign players that have registered for the Mega Auction 2022.
These 1214 players will appear for the action, out of which 217 can be picked by the franchises to play in the IPL 2022. IPL coming back to the TV screens with some big changes this year. Two new teams have been added i.e. Ahmedabad and Lucknow. They both have already announced their primary players this week. IPL 2022 is already making headlines because of the list of retained players.

5) Ben Stokes opted out of IPL 2022 Auction
One of the best English all-rounders, Ben Stokes, has made a decision to not play IPL 2022. This came out as a shock to Rajasthan Royals and all the other franchises in the tournament. Stokes was part of 43 games in IPL and scored 920 runs at a strike rate of 134.5. With two match winnings centuries, Sokes was on the shopping list of all the franchises.
A brilliant pacer took 28 wickets in 37 innings. Stokes was also part of some brilliant innings for team England in the last year. Jofra Archer is going through a tough time since January 2021. His last year’s injury has not been cured successfully. For about 10 months, he is suffering from elbow issues and his recovery is currently under process. The ferocious pacer was an integral part of the Rajasthan Royals for 2 years.
In 35 appearances, he has picked up 46 wickets at an average of 21.33. Archer’s pace is mostly unplayable and lethal. He was first seen in the Big Bash League while playing for Hobart Hurricanes. 2) Mitchell Starc
There were some hints from Mitchell Starc that he will be part of IPL 2022. However, after the release of the listed players, it is clear that Starc won’t be playing in the tournament.
