Australia and Kolkata Knight Riders’ decorated speedster Pat Cummins is reportedly set to miss the second leg of the Indian Premier League(IPL) in UAE. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), in a virtual Special General Meeting (SGM) decided to resume the tournament in September – October window. The tournament was postponed after multiple players and support staff tested positive for the virus.
While the BCCI is keen to resume the tournament, they are concerned about the availability of the foreign players due to a packed cricket calendar. Australia have series lined up against West Indies, Afghanistan and England. They are also planning to tour Bangladesh for a five-match T20I series. England too will play Pakistan and Bangladesh after India series. Dates of the Caribbean Premier League might also clash with the IPL which might force several West Indian players to give few matches of IPL a miss. The board will also want their players to be fresh before the T20 World Cup. India will take on New Zealand in the summit clash of the World Test Championship before crossing swords with England in five Tests. They are also mulling over hosting South Africa and New Zealand before the World Cup thus the road ahead will not be easy for the BCCI by any means. With several international series taking place at the same time, it will be interesting to see how BCCI overcome the hurdles to successfully stage the IPL.
Coming back to Cummins, the pacer had an average first leg of the season and could only manage 9 wickets in 7 games. How to win cricket betting tips, If you want to know more read more here in our website.
