The BCCI has confirmed that the remaining matches of the IPL 2021 will be played in UAE later this year. The BCCI is looking to complete the tournament in the September-October window. Earlier, the BCCI was keen to stage the event in England, after the England- India Test series but things didn’t work out between them and the ECB.

While it’s almost certain that the decision was taken keeping India’s COVID-19 situation in mind, the BCCI, in its release said that they zeroed on moving the tournament out of India due to the monsoon season in the country during that period.
