The Indian contingent in England is dealt with a Coronavirus scare as one of its members tested positive for COVID-19. Further, the report states that Pant tested positive a week ago and is asymptomatic. Take a look our full 4rabet india review here.
The southpaw was among the players who visited Wembley Stadium to watch Euro 2020 fixture between England and Germany. Currently, Pant is in self-isolation at his relative’s place, while the rest of the squad have assembled in Durham.
BCCI Vice President, Rajiv Shukla confirmed the reports of a player testing positive. However, he declined to disclose the name of the player infected.
“Yes, one player has tested positive but he has been in isolation for the last eight days. He was not staying in any hotel with the team, so no other player has been affected. But I can’t divulge the name of the player,” BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla was quoted by News18.
“As of now no other player has tested positive. Also you must be aware our secretary Jay Shah has written a letter to all players to maintain protocols,” Shukla added.
However, another BCCI source confirmed that the player who tested positive is Rishabh Pant. It is learnt that Pant is infected with the Delta variant of COVID-19 which has resulted in a spike in COVID-19 cases in England.
