SA VS IND, 2nd ODI: “You are no longer a Captain now” Harbhajan alerted Virat Kohli on his performance
SA VS IND: A few months back, Virat Kohli was the captain of the Indian team in all three formats. But now he is not the captain and is struggling with his form as well. After he got out for a duck in the second ODI against South Africa, many of the ex-cricketers and cricket analysts have already started to criticise his form and his place in the team.
Virat Kohli, who was sacked by the BCCI from the ODI captaincy before the South Africa tour, has looked short of runs. And as per his performance with the bat since 2019 are not as good as per the expectations. Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh has also warned Kohli about his batting form as now he is not the captain of the Indian team.

SA VS IND: Harbhajan Singh on Virat’s performance
Harbhajan Singh expressed concern about Virat’s batting form and warned him that he is no longer the team’s captain. And, in order to be a part of the squad, he must consistently perform with the bat. Virat, according to Bhajji, will now feel pressure to perform in order to keep his spot in the team.
“When a captain steps down after seven years, a lot of people feel surprised in and outside the team. I myself was very surprised that he perhaps made this decision in a hurry. But obviously, Virat knows what’s in his heart, what are his future plans and what he wants to do in the future. But when you are captain, things are different. As a batter, he’ll have a different pressure upon him. We all know he’s a big player but when you are captain you don’t have to worry about your selection. You are always selected,”Harbhajan expressed in a video on his YouTube channel.
Harbhajan Singh also mentioned Sachin Tendulkar, Kapil Dev, and Sunil Gavaskar, saying that it doesn’t matter how big a player you are, but there are times in your career when you feel pressure. You can check our live cricket prediction for today here in our website.
Bhajji also stated that Virat is a big player who has done exceptionally well as captain, but he now needs to be more consistent and help the team win more games.
“But no matter how big a player you are – whether you are Sachin Tendulkar, Kapil Dev, (Sunil) Gavaskar, or anyone – you feel the pressure when you don’t perform. He’ll feel a pressure that wasn’t there for the past 7 years. But I also want to say that in these seven years he’s performed the best in world cricket as a captain. I hope his performance as a batter continues to be equally good and he keeps winning Team India matches as he did as a captain.”
Harbhajan Singh on the performance of Indian team
Speaking about India’s performance in South Africa, Bhajji stated that this team was one of the weakest South African teams, but that after the first test, they had outplayed the Indian team in every department. Bhajji also stated that the Indian batters, who appeared to be short of runs, were the main reason for India losing the test series, despite taking a 1-0 lead after the first test.
