The Kiwis got a perfect match practice as they played two-match Test series against England and moreover, won the contest sealing the second Test by 8 wickets. Almost all of their players in the squad got a chance to get a feel of the conditions. On the other hand, despite not the whole of May after IPL 2021 suspension, they landed in the UK only on June 3.
The players underwent 14 days of quarantine in Mumbai before being in hard quarantine again in Southampton for three days. They started practicing in phases and the team is now playing a four-day intra-squad practice game.
