The franchise’s social media admin humorously asked Sunil Narine and Andre Russell, “Final match you perform, what happening?” This question, referencing a viral moment from the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), left the West Indian duo in splits.

The original incident involved an anchor struggling with English, who posed the same question to Narine, Russell, and Moeen Ali, resulting in confusion and amusement among the players. The social media admin’s callback to this humorous moment provided a perfect post-match laugh.

Sunil Narine played a crucial role in KKR’s successful campaign, scoring 488 runs in 15 matches with an impressive strike rate of 180.74 and a century to his name. Despite a modest performance with the bat in the final, Narine was economical with the ball, delivering four tight overs and taking a wicket, contributing to Hyderabad being bowled out for 113. He finished the tournament with 17 wickets at an average of 21.64 and an economy rate of 6.69.

Narine’s consistent all-around performances earned him the MVP award for the third time in IPL history, a record achievement. Meanwhile, Andre Russell did not get many opportunities with the bat due to KKR’s top-class batting performance, however, the West Indies all-rounder still bossed the tournament with his significant bowling performance, taking 19 wickets, taking crucial wickets at the crucial moment for his team. The final saw KKR chase down the target of 114 runs in just 10.3 overs, thanks in large part to Venkatesh Iyer’s unbeaten 52 and Rahmanullah Gurbaz’s sensible inning.
