WI VS IND: CWI Look For Alternate Plan As WI, India Squad Members Yet To Get US Visas For Florida T20Is

“Efforts are being made to resolve the visa issue.”

A source in West Indies Cricket said

Cricket West Indies is already looking at alternatives due to the uncertainty surrounding the previous two matches, although it is still working to secure visas for both teams. When the players’ US travel documents arrived later than expected in 2016, both teams experienced the same problem. Interestingly, both sides had two games scheduled in Florida, the only cricket stadium in the USA with ICC certification.

“Options are being explored while we continue to pursue the possibilities of receiving the outstanding visas.”

Said Ricky Skerritt, the president of the CWI

West Indies vs India, T20 Series

After defeating the hosts by 68 runs in the opening T20I match at Trinidad and Tobago’s Brian Lara Cricket Stadium, India has a 1-0 series lead over the other four teams. The hosts will attempt a comeback in the following game, which is slated for Monday at Warner Park in Basseterre, St. Kitts. August 1 and 2 are set aside for the next two T20Is.

The players will only go to the USA if they receive all the necessary approvals. The fourth and fifth Twenty20 Internationals will occur on August 6 and 7, respectively. India won the first two T20Is to take the series lead when they last toured the United States.

The third T20I in the Caribbean was won by the Men in Blue, who kept up their recent form by thrashing the locals. In 2016, MS Dhoni’s captaincy resulted in India losing the first T20I. Rain forced the cancellation of the second game in the series.

In Trinidad’s main city of Port of Spain, the Queen’s Park Oval hosted the recently finished three-match ODI series. India defeated the hosts by 119 runs in the final ODI using the Duckworth Lewis system, sweeping them 3-0. CWI has held Caribbean Premier League matches in the United States in addition to staging international games.

On Monday, August 1, the second Twenty20 International between India and the West Indies is played in St. Kitts. India has a 1-0 series lead after winning the first T20I by 68 runs. To tie the series, West Indies must win the second T20I.
