Heather Knight Recalls Virat Kohli’s Pep Talk for the RCB Team
The RCB team was in dire need of a victory not only to keep themselves in the competition after the horrific start to the season. The team that looked extremely strong on paper with some of the big names in Women’s cricket couldn’t click together. The first 4 games were one-sided as RCB looked completely clueless. However, they put up a great fight against Delhi Capitals and eventually sealed a victory with a great performance against UP Warriorz.

This was followed by Megan Schutt dismissing Alyssa Healy and UP Warriorz was in trouble as the scoreboard reflected 5-3. Speaking during the first innings of the game, RCB’s all-rounder Heather Knight explained that former Indian and RCB team skipper Virat Kohli gave a pep talk to the team ahead of the do-or-die game.

We had a lovely chat with Virat Kohli says RCB all-rounder Heather Knight
Heather Knight mentioned that Virat Kohli recalled a season when his team lost 6 matches in a row. Kohli acknowledged that it was the first time in his as well as AB de Villiers’ career that the two of them had faced defeats in this manner. “We want to be really aggressive, be really positive. We had a lovely chat with Virat Kohli this afternoon. Surprised us, came into the team room, and just had a chat,” she said.
“He has so much experience in cricket and he talked about when the men’s team lost six matches in a row and been in a very similar situation. It’s now about trying to fight and trying to come out of our shackles and finish this on a high. He inspired the girls a little bit and we’re certainly pumped to get the first one tonight,” Heather Knight added.
It was an all-round performance by the side with Sophie Devine providing the momentum with both ball and the bat. The victory has now kept the chances of RCB to finish in the top 3 alive. The team will however have to win all their remaining games and will have to depend on the results of the other games for their qualification.
