Saika Ishaque has been highly impressive: Saba Karim
“Saika Ishaque has been highly impressive, she comes from Bengal. A left arm-spinner and good to see her taking so much responsibility. On so many occasions, I think in all the MI games she has bowled in the powerplay, which is not an easy task. And there have been some interesting battles between Saika Ishaque and some of the top overseas batters,” Saba Karim said.
In addition to speaking about Saika Ishaque, Karim commented on Meg Lanning’s style of captaincy calling it impressive. “I’m very impressed by Meg Lanning. I think the way she has led the Delhi Capitals franchise – It is not easy for an overseas player to come in and take that kind of responsibility. I’m sure that she has a decent core of people to help her,” he added.
Talking about Saika Ishaque, she was picked up by Mumbai Indians at a price of 10 Lakhs and has proved to be the biggest star performer for the team. After the game against Gujarat Giants, Ishaque opened up on her mindset about the game. She acknowledged that it felt good to be the leading wicket-taker but she was focused on executing her plans. Furthermore, she credited the legendary Jhulan Goswami for her guidance in her career. Mumbai Indians will play their next game against UP Warriors.
