UP Warriorz won the toss and decided to bowl first. Delhi Capitals batting got a solid start as the opening duo of Meg Lanning and Shafali Verma batted comfortably. They stitched together 67 runs for the first wicket before Verma was gone for 17. The captain led from the front and completed her half-century in no time.
Lanning’s 70 off 42 with 10 fours and three maximums provided the momentum to Delhi’s innings. Jess Jonassen and Jemimah Rodrigues just continued with the flow while Jonassen dominated throughout. While she added 42 off 20 deliveries, Rodrigues accompanied with a 22-ball 34. Both remained unbeaten and set a target of 212 for UP Warriorz.

It was important for UP Warriorz to have an impressive start. Alyssa Healy started off well but was soon dismissed by Jess Jonassen. As soon as Healy left, Kiran Navgire and Shweta Sehrawat followed in no time. Jonassen took two wickets in one over and in space of three runs, UP Warriorz lost two wickets. Tahila McGrath walked in and took the charge. She kept the Warriorz in the game but failed to find an ally. Her unbeaten 90 off 50 balls went in vain as they fell short of 42 runs at the end. Jonassen scalped three wickets for 43 runs.
